Banco de Costa Rica Know Your Customer Forms

Banco de Costa Rica is one of the largest banks in Costa Rica and it was founded in 1877.  The bank became the main issuer of currency for the Costa Rican government as well as the Manager of public funds for the Costa Rican government.

After the 1948 revolution in Costa Rica the bank was nationalized by the government.   Today the bank is still owned by the Costa Rican government.

The Banco de Costa Rica applies very stringent anti-money laundering guidelines. The application of the money laundering regulations can make opening an account quite a challenge. If you do not have residency in Costa Rica it makes it more of a challenge. All banks in Costa Rica are subject to money laundering regulations which require them to apply Know Your Customer (KYC) guidelines. All private information that the bank requires you to provide is to satisfy the Know Your Customer Guidelines.

Whatever the case you will need to complete the “Know Your Customer” forms before they will consider opening an account.   The KYC form a personal account and for a corporation account are set forth below.
