Costa Rica Covid Update August 10-21

The Costa Rican government has updated the Covid health regulations for the period August 10-21.  The measures vary depending on the zone where you live.   It is either a YELLOW zone (more open and less restrictions) or an ORANGE zone with more restrictive measures.

All businesses located in the YELLOW zones may open for business.

All businesses located in the ORANGE area shall be closed unless listed in the exempted business category.   In addition to those exempted in the ORANGE area, the following businesses may also open during the weekday. Those are restaurants, sodas, coffee shops, general stores, and department stores, beauty salons, and supermarkets with 50% capacity.

The license plate vehicle restriction has been modified.  Those license plate numbers that can be on the road may do so from 5 AM to 9 PM.  Saturday and Sunday from 5 AM to 7 PM

ORANGE  ZONE  – The following may circulate on the road.

Monday  1 and 2

Tuesday  2 and 3

Wednesday 3 and 4

Thursday 4 and 5

Friday  9 and 10

Saturday: Even numbers

Sunday:  Odd Numbers

YELLOW ZONE  –  The following may NOT circulate on the road.

Monday  1 and 2

Tuesday  2 and 3

Wednesday 3 and 4

Thursday 4 and 5

Friday  9 and 10

Saturday: Even numbers

Sunday:  Odd Numbers
